Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Dear Friends at Son Light Bible Church,

Hallelujah! This year Agape Ministries is celebrating 50 years of service to the cause of Christ in Guatemala. Chiqui and I started this ministry of providing air service to serve the churches of Guatemala. This was the first airplane I flew to Guatemala in 1963 While I flew, Chiqui took care of our girls, home, and also managed the radio contacts. We now have 2 airplanes, pilots, and personnel to maintain the hangar, along with a fine board of directors.

This picture is where I spent most my time. At the beginning, I did not have a clue as to what the process should be, so I found a Christian lawyer and he told me this is how it must be done. First, we must register with the government as a nonprofit organization and to do that you must have in your name, the word association. Then you must put the word Guatemala to show it where you'll be working, after that what your ministry is. Well, it is with airplanes, so we put aéreo, then explained the purpose. In Spanish the word for which is "para", WOW. I saw those letters, and I realized that this was spelling the word agape, which is the Greek word for God's love. Praise the Lord, this is what I wanted to proclaim! I had the letters AGAP, I needed an E, of course, the word evangelization. My lawyer took it as the official name AGAPE. But the government turned it down. They did not like that word evangelization. You see, in that time, 50 years ago, evangelicals were in a very small minority and not accepted in many areas, so I looked for another word that started with the letter E. I found the word in my Spanish dictionary, Edification. The second definition is "to give a good example". It was accepted; AGAPE Ministries was born and is now 50 years old!

Thank you all for your prayers and support. We are very blessed- Praise the LORD!

Keep us in your prayers. Thank you. Pray for our pilots!

July 8, 2025 Eph 1:2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Dear Friends at Son Light Bible Church, We are now in the midst of our annual visit to the United States. We have been enjoying our family once again so many changes are being made to our family, as you know, one of our granddaughters is getting married this summer, there are more coming along, which means there could be some other weddings in the future. But we are glad to be here with the family and enjoying this time with them. We had a good trip up from Guatemala, and as always, we are taking advantage of being here to do all of our medical exams. We have completed some of them and we are so thankful that all the results are very good. For the moment we have no real problems on the horizon and for which we are very thankful. You know, this is very important for us even though we have wonderful hospitals and medicine and doctors in Guatemala. There is no insurance of any kind so the cost can be rather high and most of it has to be done in the city, which is also very complicated for us to travel to the city, so we try to take advantage of this time to get all these tests completed. Praise the Lord, keep us in your prayers. We are feeling fine and have no major problems that we can see of any kind. As always, we try to take advantage of this time to have contact with many of our churches and friends in the United States. We already have had a wonderful time in a local church here as we spoke and talked of the situation in Guatemala. It was to the adults in a VBS that was being held at the church plus a supper served before and the fellowship was wonderful. We will be visiting another church in the area that is been a part of our ministry for so many years. Would you believe, even when my brother and I traveled in evangelism we visited this church oh my, many years ago, and I have been coming to this church for most of our married life. What a blessing to be able to come back to see these folks again of course many are not there that we knew at the beginning and there are new faces and things are greatly changed, but we are glad to be in contact with them again also, we were able by virtual or the Internet we were able to attend the global harvester annual convention held in Indiana. It's a little difficult for us to travel so we were glad that we could be part of the convention by electronic means we also have been involved in two churches in Guatemala via the Internet, which is incredible tool to be used nowadays for the spreading of the gospel. Such wonderful opportunities to be able to visit with these dear brothers and interact with them via the Internet. My, how things have changed! Bless you all. Gracias! Here is a recent picture taken on Chiqui's 80th birthday. We will continue with our medical needs and then returning to Guatemalan. In the month of August, we will be in the wedding of our oldest granddaughter here in Virginia. This is quite an experience and how wonderful life is as we continue down this path. We know they'll be other weddings coming along for sure. When we return to our home, we hope to renew our visits to the Central Park here in Antigua Guatemala, where we have been ministering for many years Thank you so much for your prayers and your support for this ministry. We are so thankful to the Lord that He has given us good health and good friends like you to continue this ministry. Don & Chiqui
Bible Ministry
By Michael Nolt June 1, 2025
We set up at our usual spot on East King Street, blessed with another beautiful day. Although the streets were quieter than usual, God still brought people our way. One man stopped to thank us for the ministry, then returned later, eager to help. He boldly encouraged passersby to take gospel tracts and hear about Jesus. Frank took a tract, read it, and came back to talk. He shared about his friend Lou, who once lived a strong faith but struggled after losing his mother. We gave Frank materials to share and ask for prayers that Lou will turn back to God. Aaron and his friend stopped by, full of joy in the Lord. She was recently baptized, and they both took Bibles and tracts. Aaron shared encouraging scripture with us, reminding us how uplifting it is to see young people devoted to Christ. Throughout the day, we handed out Bibles, children’s items, and tracts to several people, including a young mother with her kids and a group of teens who drove by seeking scripture. Please pray that every Bible and tract shared will have a lasting impact and lead hearts closer to Christ. The harvest is plentiful—praise the Lord!
